My name is James Wilson and, like you, I live to ride my mountain bike. I’m a strength coach who has trained 3 national champions, several world cup racers and currently work for the Yeti Cycles/ Fox Racing Shox racing team. I’ve changed the way mountain bikers think about training through countless articles and videos that have appeared in top mountain biking magazines and websites like Decline Magazine, Pinkbike.com, VitalMTB.com and NSMB.com, just to name a few.

My own questions about how to improve as a mountain biker lead me on a journey that has taught me lessons that I want to share with you. I can fast-track your education as a rider and ensure that your best days on the trail are just around the corner.
Here is what you can expect to learn from a training program with us:
- MTB Specific Strength and Mobility Strategies: Learn how to turn gym time into “skills training” by targeting the movements and types of strength you need on the trail. If you don’t know why you are doing an exercise and how it will directly affect you on the trail then why do it? What’s worse, some common “mountain bike specific exercises” can actually make it harder for you to see improvements on the trail.
- MTB Specific Nutrition and Supplement Strategies: Unless you are putting the right kinds of fuel into your body at the right times, all your training can be wasted. However, good nutrition isn’t complicated and by understanding and applying some basic principles you can see massive improvements in your energy levels and body composition. Supplements are another area that can make a big difference but you can’t just buy performance in a bottle. There are a lot of scams out there and you can waste a lot of money if you don’t know what works and why.
- MTB Skills Training: What good is training and eating better if you don’t know how to apply it to the trail? You’ll learn how to improve your body position for improved balance, cornering for improved speed and control and manualing/ jumping for improved style points. You’ll learn some basic drills that you can do anywhere, anytime so you can continue to work on these vital skills after you get back home.
